2020 was supposed to be the start of a promising new decade for achieving gender equality and global health equity. Significant progress had been made toward Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Health and Well-Being for All.
But the COVID-19 pandemic has put these remarkable health gains at grave risk— exacerbating persistent equity gaps.
It is time to double down on the commitment to ensure every woman, every child and every adolescent can access the quality, affordable health care they need to survive and thrive. To do this, the GFF urgently needs new pledges of at least US$1.2 billion before the end of 2021, out of a total additional funding need of US$2.5 billion by 2025.
Now is the time to invest in the GFF.
