Civil Society Engagement Strategy
Details
The Civil Society Engagement strategy was developed following broad based requests from civil society organizations engaged in the GFF processes to define an approach to strengthening engagement of civil society to enable their effective contribution to the achievement of the goals of the GFF and national investment cases, and the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescent Health.
The strategy draft has been reviewed by nearly 250 partners from 28 countries through consultation efforts led by the CSO Coordinating Group and supported by the civil society Investors Group (IG) members and the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. The consultation process included: an in person regional civil society meeting held in Dar es Salaam in November 2016, multiple draft reviews by the CSO Coordinating Group, outreach by the CSO Coordinating Group to the GFF secretariat and IG members, webinars and teleconferences, in person meetings in countries such as the first Nigeria Quarterly Interactive Forum for civil society and government working in the health sector, as well as an online survey which was publicly available from February 14 through March 14, 2017.
